Jupiter and Fudge

Introduction:
This page was created to show how to use (or how I use) the blood glucose meter (which is designed for humans) in a dog diabetes case.

I'm a computer engineer working in the Silicon Valley. My dog, Jupiter, a 10 year-old Golden Retriever, was diagnosed with diabetes, as well as Cushing's disease. He was in critical condition due to blood acidation, was hospitalized at Adobe Animal Hospital in Los Altos for 3 days, and survived. (It is great that they have ICU for pets with 24h support!) Now, as he has both diabetes and Cushing's disease, it is a challenging task to control his blood sugar level (it is known that having Cushing disease makes diabetes harder to control).
