Table of Contents 5. Setup and Calibration The glucose meter requires you to put a code (specific to the lot of test strips) into the nmachine. When the test strip is inserted in the meter, the meter shows the code number set in the machine (see photo below). It can be changed by pressing the <m> and <c> buttons while the code is displayed. After adjusting the code number, you can check for accuracy with the test liquid that comes with the meter.  Please refer to the device's user manual for further information. Every time you use the meter, make sure that the code matches with the number on the test strip case. After calibration, I suggest you try and use it on yourself first. (Ramona did it to me!)  This will let you know that blood sampling does not hurt at all.  It's nice to know so that you won't hesitate to use the device on your dog. Copyright 2005, A.K.
