Besides the device itself, you will need to refill test strips and lancets for daily use.  I usually use four test tabs per day, and one lancet every other day.           The device (FreeStyle Blood Glucose Monitoring System): $75           100 test strips (FreeStyle Test Strips- 100 pack): $73.45           100 lancets (FreeStyle Sterile Lancet - 100 pack): 10.75 Well, it may not be cheap.  Unfortunately, no pet medical insurance will pay for this either. However, if you consider the cost of monitoring the blood glucose at the Vet each time, the cost is not too bad.
